I forgot to rinse out my conditioner last night so now I have to wash a whole meter of hair all over again! Thank goodness I didn't have anything planned for this morning
OTOH I've only just learned how to French (or possibly Dutch) braid, so I can finally reliably get it out of my face. It would be a shame to let that skill go to waste!
You're a more patient person than I am! Actual proper braids always seem like magic to me! I usually either stick a hair fork or a clip in there to pin it up and out of my face (and most importantly, out of reach of any doorknobs and furniture where it would inevitably get stuck in)
I actually started growing mine due to the influence of The Untamed/MDZS. I wanted to be able to wear a hair-stick like a gentleman cultivator from the Jianghu. And I did and it was great for a while. There's something quite magical about being able to tie your hair back with a stick. It could easily be a hairstyle that goes back to the Stone Age - as old as humanity. But I also need something I can wear under a cycle helmet, or for lying on a weight lifting bench, and that's where the braids come in.
Braids are awful! Terrible! Much better if you can get people to do them for you. I had to try French braiding three or four times and give it up in increasing fury and self-hatred before finally being able to scrape by with them semi-regularly. I'm still at the stage of hoping they'll become more even and easier with practice, but I think they will, since they already have.
Those hairpins (and all the accessories and clothes honestly) are so gorgeous!!! And yes, braids are best when you have someone to do them for you (and less strenuous on the arms! It ends up being a work out when it's long enough).
And congratulations on them getting easier with practice!!
So many beautiful people! I would love to see the same people who made The Untamed make the elvish part of the Silmarillion. I think they would do it right.
Yes yes yes!!!! Oh my god that would be gorgeous!! (There's an artist I follow on Tumblr that does do Silm fanart in a very fantasy Cdrama style and it's so good)
But I definitely agree that a series in the style of The Untamed would work for the Silm very well (at least for the elven part like you say), it wouldn't be afraid to need 50 episodes or more and it would allow itself to jump around in time and introduce concepts without needing to handhold the audience
I hate when I do that. I turn into a giant greaseball if I don't hop back in the shower and redo it. I suspect it might be good for the hair, but yuck.
Right?? At least the conditioner I use is safe as a leave in so my hair won't be too damaged, but it's still a sensory nightmare. Absolutely broke my morning in half.
